Thanks and enjoy!

Homemade Lavender Bath Salts: (Printable Recipe)
1 cup Epsom salt
1/2 cup Sea salt
2 tablespoons dried lavender buds
10 to 15 drops of lavender essential oil
a few drops of lavender soap colorant/a small pinch if using powdered ones (optional)

In a glass mixing bowl, gently stir all ingredients to combine. Transfer mixture to a glass, airtight container and let it rest for a couple of days. This will give the herbs and essential oil time to infuse the salts with their aroma.

To use as bath salt: Spoon about 4 to 6 tablespoons of Lavender Bath Salt under warm running bath water. Soak for 20 minutes and let the rich minerals absorb through the skin.

To use as an exfoliator: Mix 2 tablespoons of Lavender Bath Salt with a handful of your favorite body wash. Gently massage mixture onto skin to slough away dry patches, reveling a healthier looking complexion.Amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15041216192025257555noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6646408613786865343.post-17800698142191626732014-06-12T15:28:36.076-07:002014-06-12T15:28:36.076-07:00Hi Amy I am wondering how many drops of lavender o...Hi Amy I am wondering how many drops of lavender oil should I use?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06663784288162014048noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6646408613786865343.post-4494315384061027662014-01-12T20:29:34.599-08:002014-01-12T20:29:34.599-08:00Awesome, I will be sure to look for one that is sa...Awesome, I will be sure to look for one that is safe and natural! thanks for your reply!meggomyeggohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01803062667261829393noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6646408613786865343.post-23934639312258289002014-01-05T23:29:08.794-08:002014-01-05T23:29:08.794-08:00I agree with you, I love simple recipes rather tha...I agree with you, I love simple recipes rather than a complex one. The colorant that I used is all natural and safe, made purposely for soap crafting at home. Again, I guess that also depends on the brand that you use. After all, the main purpose I do a homemade version was because I wanted it to be all natural and free of chemicals (same idea for home cooking). So, if you're not sure about the colorant, leave it out. The fragrant and aroma you get from the essential oil and lavender buds are already pretty amazing! ;) Enjoy!Amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15041216192025257555noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6646408613786865343.post-38557593171487277542014-01-05T23:24:18.890-08:002014-01-05T23:24:18.890-08:00That's a great idea, James. Sometimes DIY can get much too complex. I see from reading the aforementioned comments I can purchase the colorant at a craft store, but is it safe and natural? While I do enjoy the color, if it is potentially toxic, I could do without the aesthetic.
