Before I became a full time Mom and blogger, I had a job in the H.R. department of a major telecom company. My schedule was routine, pretty much Monday-Friday, 9 to 5. Each day, I got up, worked, had lunch, worked some more, got off work, headed home to cook dinner, rest, chat with friends, sleep, and repeat.
After getting married and having kids, everything changed. My schedule evolved around them, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! No one had ever warned me that a full-time Mom doesn't get any days-off! What a big surprise!
My typical week as a full-time Mom would involve taking the kids to play dates, birthday parties, recreational classes, parks, and library. While at home, I also need to take care of the laundry, cleaning up their messes, and to prepare meals throughout the day! For whatever time I have left, I also need to work on my recipes and blog posts. Most of these activities are without a set schedule.
Out of all the fun and craziness being a full time Mom, I came to realize one important lesson! Which is, I need to take better care of myself before I can take good care of my family. While it is challenging to keep a balanced lifestyle and diet under such irregular schedules, there’s one habit that I have always kept for many years… which is to put my vitamins and supplements containers right next to my coffee beans! Since I must grind and brew my coffee every morning, this strategic storage location allows me to always remember to take my dietary supplements while preparing for my coffee.
Recently, I have added another supplement to my morning routine. It is the vitafusion™ Extra Strength Biotin. Biotin is an essential water-soluble vitamin that is necessary for the metabolism of carbohydrates, fatty acids, and amino acids. Biotin also plays a key role in the health of skin, hair and nails.* I decided to give this a try!
For those who knows me, you probably know that I can’t swallow pills, no matter how tiny they are. Luckily, vitafusion™ makes their great-tasting vitamins in gummy. This also allows me to pop two gummy into my mouth, while grinding the coffee beans, without the need to pour myself another glass of water!
For those who always read the Supplement Facts label, vitafusion™ products are gluten-free, and made with natural fruit flavors and colors derived from fruits, vegetables and plants. They contain no high fructose corn syrup, and no synthetic (FD&C) dyes.
I feel great adding the vitafusion™ Extra Strength Biotin to my morning routine and I cannot wait to see how things go in a few months. The vitafusion™ gummy vitamins are available at club, drug and grocery stores nationwide including: Costco, Walmart, Target and Walgreens. More information can be found at www.gummyvites.com.

ReplyDeleteYou are a smart girl Amy! I too have learned to take better care of myself simply because my family needs me to keep it all together. I really don't have a trick, I take them every night before going to bed, its been a routine for years. But my husband has a pill box for his vitamins, and the reason behind it is that he is lazy and doesn't want to open bottles every time.
ReplyDeleteI keep them on the kitchen counter so whenever I go into the kitchen I remember to take them.

ReplyDeleteHey Amy;
ReplyDeleteWhat a Wonderful Giveaway :-)Thank-You so much for a chance to win a $100.00 Visa Card!!! (I could use it as could Everyone:-)
What I do is this, When I get out of bed, I drink water and then I take my Supplements with a small bit of food.
A Wonderful Doctor once told me to make sure and nibble on something, when you take Vitamins. I have done this since he told me to, as your stomach needs to have some type of food when taking Vitamins and or Pills.
This is Very Important!!!! Please note this Everyone!!!
I would have to say that I do so by setting an alarm - shaunie

ReplyDeleteI have a hard time swallowing pills as well, especially the horse pills for calcium. I finally found a calcium gummy pill that didn't Vitamin K. YAY! What a life saver! I've heard of biotin. In fact, my hair dresser recommended it for hair loss. I'm going to have to search for the gummy ones. Thanks for pointing those out! As far as how I remember to take my supplements and other medications each day, I put them in a little sake cup and leave it on the counter next to my water glass. When I go to drink some water, I'll pop a pill. :)
